- 18 March: The Criterion Collection releases Godzilla vs. Biollante on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray, marking the first 4K edition of a Heisei Godzilla film outside of Japan.
- 26 March: Marvel Comics publishes Godzilla vs. Fantastic Four, the first issue in its Godzilla vs. Marvel series and Godzilla's first licensed appearance in a Marvel comic since 1979.

- 2 April: IDW Publishing releases the second issue of Godzilla: Heist. Actress Kaitlyn Dever states in an interview that the sixth Monsterverse film has begun production in Queensland, Australia.
- 5 April: An edited 12-episode version of GAMERA -Rebirth- begins airing on NHK.
- 11 April: Liverpool University Press publishes Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster by Christopher Stewardson, part of its Constellations series analyzing science fiction films.
- 14 April: Toho announces it will invest ¥15 billion into the Godzilla brand over the next three years, with future projects including new mobile and console games and other audiovisual media.[1]
- 15 April: Legendary Comics launches a Kickstarter campaign for the graphic novel anthology Monarch: The Lost Adventures.
- 16 April: TOHO Visual Entertainment releases a Blu-ray set comprised of the five tokusatsu short films which debuted at Godzilla Fest (Godzilla Appears at Godzilla Fest, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Fest Godzilla 3: Gigan Attacks, Fest Godzilla 4: Operation Jet Jaguar, and Fest Godzilla 5: All Monsters Showdown). IDW Publishing also publishes the second issue of Mothra: Queen of the Monsters, while Marvel Comics publishes Godzilla vs. Hulk.
- 21 April: Bloomberg, Indiana mayor Kerry Thomson officially declares 27 June "Godzilla Day."[2][3] The city announces plans to screen an uncut version of Godzilla (1954) on 27 June, All Monsters Attack (1969) on 28 June, and Godzilla vs. Hedorah (1971) on 29 June in celebration.
- 25 April: IDW Publishing makes select stories from Godzilla: Unnatural Disasters available on Webtoon.[4]
- 26 April: The "Godzilla 70th Anniversary Godzilla The Art Exhibition" opens at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo, Japan, and will run until June 29.[5]

- 3 May: IDW Publishing releases Godzilla: The New Heroes, previewing the Kai-Sei Era, a line of Godzilla comics with shared continuity.

In fiction
- A strange cocoon exposed by the terraforming of Mars hatches inside the spaceship Izanami and crash-lands in Tokyo. The kaiju inside, Negadon, causes mass destruction until it is confronted by the giant robot MI-6 2, piloted by its inventor, tortured scientist Ryuichi Narasaki. MI-6 2 kills Negadon with its drill arm after flying it into space, but the creatures self-destructs, taking Narasaki and the robot with it. (Negadon: The Monster from Mars)
- July 4: The advanced computer system Kyron 5, backed by the army of robots the Cybortech Company programmed it to build, declares war on humanity. (Gunhed)
