Plot
Aboard a S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier hovering above the damaged town of Astoria, Oregon, Agent Maria Hill meets with the New Avengers and a group called Kaiju Chasers United, consisting of Bonnie Ibuki, Ohgene, and Sebastian. She expresses her initial disapproval of their involvement, blaming them for contributing to the destruction during the battle between Godzilla and Fin Fang Foom near the town.
The heroes push back, arguing that while they may have caused some collateral damage, they also saved many lives. Underprepared for the sheer scale of the threat, they did their best to minimize harm. Spider-Man struggled due to the lack of tall buildings for web-swinging, Luke Cage narrowly avoided being crushed by debris, and Wolverine suffered severe burns from Godzilla's atomic breath. Iron Man questions his decision to prioritize Fin Fang Foom, while Spider-Woman laments that Hulk and Thor weren't there to help.
During the chaos, Jet Jaguar arrived and successfully separated the two monsters, blasting Godzilla away and redirecting the fight from the town. He then hurled Fin Fang Foom toward a bridge, forcing Spider-Man to cushion the impact with his webs. When Captain America told Spider-Woman to assist, she curtly reminded him that she couldn't shoot webs.
Back in the present, Agent Hill grows frustrated with the New Avengers' bickering and suspects that something's amiss. When she questions the Kaiju Chasers' role, Bonnie, Goro Ibuki's niece, explains their mission to confront the rising kaiju threat using Jet Jaguar. Hill is skeptical, doubting that a group of young civilians could build a giant robot capable of growing to 150 feet without Pym Particles, though Captain America is impressed by the feat.
After Hill mistakenly calls the group by the wrong name, Sebastian and Hill argue briefly before Bonnie interjects. She clarifies that the new Jet Jaguar was assembled from salvaged material but didn't perform as intended, ultimately putting lives at risk. They later traced the issue to a flaw in the AI, which allowed Godzilla to tear off Jet Jaguar’s arm and enabled Fin Fang Foom to escape from Spider-Man's webs. Iron Man, Luke Cage, and Spider-Man tried to fend off Godzilla, while Captain America shielded civilians as Fin Fang Foom was launched toward the bridge.
The heroes eventually trapped Fin Fang Foom in a force field. Agent Hill orders him to put down a truck and attempts to interrogate him, though she is annoyed by the team's constant speculation about the creature's gender and shorts. Prior to that, Fin Fang Foom had been napping on the bridge when Godzilla arrived and began trampling through Astoria. Declaring himself the King of the Monsters, Fin Fang Foom saw Godzilla as a challenger, though Godzilla ignored him until retaliating with a tail swipe.
After regrouping, the New Avengers and Kaiju Chasers made a final attempt to lure Godzilla away from land. The plan worked, thanks to Iron Man's strategy. As Godzilla retreated, Wolverine furiously demanded he return. Luke questioned Wolverine's mental state, prompting Spider-Woman to quip that his brain might have been burned along with his body. Captain America warned the Kaiju Chasers never to deploy untested technology again, while Wolverine sarcastically reassured them that Agent Hill would surely be understanding.
