"A Destined Encounter"
Takeshi Yamato sought out Deva Datta in hopes of addressing the problems with the Die-Die Gang, and was shot down by their soldiers. Deva Datta healed the young man and took him on as an apprentice.
"Go! Warrior of Love"
Takeshi's first task as a student was to reach Deva Datta's mountaintop home after nearly falling down a cliff, and return his staff. When Takeshi finally made it, Deva Datta gave him water to drink and began trying to make the rash young man into a disciplined master of the elements. They began with physical training to hone Takeshi's mastery over his body, and eventually the old yogi demonstrated his control over the elements. Deva Datta demolished a great boulder, and summoned two lines of flame on the ground, and had Takeshi run through them. After a failed attempt, Deva Datta doused the boy's flaming clothes, but the apprentice soon mastered the challenge. After this, Deva Datta had Takeshi shift a large boulder underwater without coming up for air. While the boy was able to eventually perform the task, he grew frustrated at his master. This led Deva Datta to reveal his intentions for Takeshi to become Rainbowman, a warrior of love. This reinvigorated Takeshi, and he became more dedicated to his training.
Some time into their training, Deva Datta brought Takeshi to a ruined village full of the corpses of soldiers after a battle. Deva Datta recited a chant and was able to reach into a fallen soldier's body and remove the bullet from his wound. After this, he began another chant and began to levitate as a golden aura formed around his body. Blue-white wisps of energy then emanated from him, and restored the lives of the soldiers, who looked up at him in amazement before quickly turning their juns back on one another. The wise old hermit scolded the men for their actions, and they soon put down their arms in exhaustion. Takeshi was brought to tears by this miracle. The two then walked away, leaving the soldiers in awe.
After many months of intense training, Takeshi had made incredible progress, but the sage knew that Dongolos was stirring, and that Takeshi would need help preparing to face him. He contacted Doctor Omiya, a friend of Takeshi's back in Japan in his dreams, urging him to assist Takeshi in his endeavors as Rainbowman. sparred together, and the sage attacked him with fire as he used the power of the wind to fly into the sky atop a small cyclone. During this battle, Takeshi was finally able to transform, and using Dash 3's water power, he put out the yogi's fire. Deva Datta then began to fall from the sky. Takeshi caught him, but Deva Datta knew that his time was limited, and that elsewhere in the world, Dongolos had re-emerged. That night, he spoke to his student about his newfound abilities, the seven Dashes and their elemental powers, and what it meant to be a Warrior of Love. With his wisdom imparted, Deva Datta sat in meditation and began to ascend in a ball of energy, and disappeared into a rainbow overhead, finally leaving this life.
