Victor Wong was a Chinese American actor who appeared in films from the 1930s to the 1940s and is best known for his role as Charlie, the cook of the Venture, in King Kong (1933) and Son of Kong. The character has been criticized for racist stereotypes in contemporary writing.[1] Despite his origins, Wong played Japanese characters in some World War II films.
