Noble Johnson was an American actor and producer. He acted from 1915 to 1950, and in 1916 founded the Lincoln Motion Picture Company, which produced five films. Johnson starred in 145 films and is best known for his roles as the Nubian in The Mummy (1932) and the Skull Island native chief in King Kong (1933) and Son of Kong. Because of his distinctive appearance, Johnson received offers to play characters of many different races and nationalities. Over the years, he has played various tribal characters, Arabs, Native Americans, and even Russians. Johnson retired from acting after 1950 and died on January 9, 1978, at the age of 96.
