Frank Reicher was an American actor, director and producer. Starting his career as a stage actor, he appeared in over 200 films during his lifetime.

Career

Reicher is best known to modern audiences for his appearances in comedies and horror films of the 1930s and 1940s, when he sometimes starred with such iconic actors as Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Emmett Vogan. His most famous characters include Captain Englehorn from King Kong (1933) and Son of Kong, and Professor Matthew Norman from two films in The Mummy franchise: The Mummy's Tomb (1942) and The Mummy's Ghost (1944).

In the late silent film era, he was also a director of dozens of movies, and some of them received good reviews. During the filming of King Kong, Reicher actively helped the aspiring actor Bruce Cabot, who later recalled this experience with gratitude.[1]
