Gigantis is just Godzilla with a slightly rewritten history, a whole separate page seems overkill. It would be like having different pages for the G54 and GKOTM! versions of Dr. Serizawa.

This would be like if we made a Princess Zandra page and a Princess Nausicaä page lol

We should make different pages for King Ghidorah, who attacked Venus, and Ghidrah, who attacked Mars.

Sorry for constantly commenting on your talk page but I think this is actually pretty important. Just now, I stumbled upon a Twitter/X post that has a picture depicting some of Toho’s staff, apparently from 1961. The picture allegedly shows Mabuchi, with his pen name Takeshi Kimura, near the top right. The picture was also added to his Wikipedia page at 00:58, 23 December 2024.

I was able to track the source of the photo to this book published by Toho. Seems plenty legit to me, so I've uploaded an unfortunately-tiny crop.

Good enough. At least we now know what he looked like, at some point at least.

Okay, I know this may be potentially controversial, but I want to vouch for User:Daimajin1966 (who I know on the Toho Kingdom forums as "mikelcho"). He got banned here on Wikizilla by Les for spelling Funimation as "FUNimation" (which is technically a valid stylization), and I want to try to get him unbanned, if possible.

Extremely reductionist summary there. The ban log reads, "Long history of obtuse and unhelpful editing, and repeated disregard for staff warnings." We were more than generous in issuing mostly warnings for the several years he was here, but after a certain point we needed to put our foot down. The Funimation thing was just one of many instances of him deciding arbitrarily, and without so much as seeking a second opinion, to change every instance of a particular term on the site. We finally gave him an ultimatum that if he did it again, we were banning him permanently; you can see how that turned out. And this isn't to mention his constant warring with us over pedantic grammatical matters. I must respectfully decline.

Hey @Les, I know this may be a controversial question, but was Daimajin1966 actually banned from this site? It seems the website actually said that he was blocked for an indefinite period. Thanks in advance.

They're called "blocks" in MediaWiki, but it's the equivalent of a ban, yes. He can still view pages but he can't edit or comment on them.

I’m just wondering how far the sandbox is to promotion. At this point, I think it’s only missing those two citations regarding Solmson and Soundtracks, I’m not very well versed/experienced in finding these types of newspapers Sydney Perkins mentioned a while ago. Aside from that, it might just need a bit of trimming and a few grammatical changes. I’ll let you, Les or someone similar be the judge.

Hello. I am asking for a clearcut answer: How is the comment deletion going to work? Will it remove the whole comment template in general, or only on articles?

The plan is to delete the comment template from articles and disable comment-posting on user pages.

Hiya, meant to ask this a little while back but never got around to it. What exactly do the user points mean? I can't seem to find an explanation anywhere which is funny considering I climbed to the top of the leaderboard without even knowing what they are lol

The last time this came up, I believe we concluded that it's based on the total number of actions you take on the site (comments included).

I know Club Tokyo doesn’t like us using their photos, but has Rip City Kaiju ever said anything about the matter? Also, what about “random” photos from anywhere on the internet?

(It’s for more CCP figures. The damn things are like cockroaches— you think you’ve got them all, then five more scuttle into view from outta nowhere. Some variants are limited to 50-100, so it’s hard to find photos that aren’t straight off eBay ;_;)

I'm not aware of Rip City Kaiju having the same policy. Randos are fine too unless stated otherwise (be especially wary of prototype collectors).

I don't see why not. Alternatively, if it doesn't have enough to substantiate a full page, you can just add it to the list of minor characters page.
