Barbados is an island country in the Caribbean Sea. In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and its novelization, Barbados was home to a Hollow Earth vortex, which Monarch built an outpost around for easy Hollow Earth access.
History
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
At her Barbados school, Jia experienced a vision of Godzilla, several pyramids, and an ape Titan. When she came to, she found she had been scribbling a three-spiked pattern over her desk. Later, her teacher consulted Illene Andrews, who pointed out her adopted daughter's isolation as the last of her people. While watching footage of Jia's rescue on Skull Island that evening, Andrews realized that Jia's scribbles matched nearly-perfectly with a signal Monarch Outpost One had detected in the Hollow Earth. Jia soon woke up, having had a vision of the same blue-eyed ape Titan, and Andrews flew to Miami for conspiracy theorist Bernie Hayes' advice, though she quickly returned to Barbados upon receiving a notification that Godzilla is active.
As Godzilla left Rome, Kong emerged from the Hollow Earth vortex in Barbados, seeking treatment for an infected tooth. Monarch scrambled to heal Kong before Godzilla detected his presence on the surface, deploying Titan veterinarian Trapper Beasley in a M.U.L.E. to pull out the tooth and replace it with a titanium replica. Kong woke up, and Jia urged him to rest as Trapper and Andrews caught up. Hayes soon arrived, exuberantly rambling to Andrews about how the three-spiked signal corresponded with prior Titan-related events, believing it's a psychic distress call. Monarch Director Hampton authorized a small team to enter Hollow Earth to investigate, consisting of Trapper, Andrews, and HEAV pilot Mikael, with the addition of Jia and Hayes. Kong re-entered the Hollow Earth as the vehicle departed.
Director Hampton later monitored Godzilla’s rampage through Europe, fight with Tiamat, and subsequent evolution from the Barbados outpost via drones, news reels, and the Monarch submarine Fifteen Alpha.
