Trivia
- Coincidentally, Kaneko shares his surname with Showa Gamera compositor and cinematographer Yuzo Kaneko and Heisei Gamera Trilogy director Shusuke Kaneko.
- Though he was in charge of special effects shooting and addressed as a director on set, Gamera the Brave does not explicitly acknowledge Kaneko as a director, crediting him instead for the action of "special effects direction" (特撮演出, tokusatsu enshutsu). In an interview for the Gamera the Brave Super Complete Works, Kaneko explained that Ryuta Tasaki should be seen as the film's only director, while he was simply an "assistant" to Tasaki by realizing the special effects sequences.[2]
- This makes Kaneko the second Gamera special effects director to not be credited as a director, after Yonesaburo Tsukiji, who is credited on Gamera the Giant Monster for "special photography" (特殊撮影, tokushu satsuei).
